All social security pension beneficiaries whose pensions were sanctioned by Velloor Grama Panchayat on or before December 31, 2025, must complete the mandatory e-mustering through Akshaya Centres by September 30, 2026.

The establishment of the Hindustan Newsprint Limited (HNL) marked the most significant milestone in the modern history of Velloor. Originally established as a Central Public Sector Enterprise, the company was later taken over by the Government of Kerala and revived as Kerala Paper Products Limited (KPPL). The sprawling paper manufacturing plant, together with its well-planned township, remains the most prominent symbol of Velloor's industrial heritage and has played a vital role in the region's economic and social development.
